Camp Counsellor
40 Hour Per Week

At LEAF Summer Camp, we offer the ultimate day camp experience! Our LEAF Summer Camps are jam packed with activities that never stop! Spend your summer working with a team that is enthusiastic, adventurous and always looking to have fun.
What will you do?
Daily interactions with children ages 5 - 15, parents/guardians and collaboration with team members.
Deliver LEAF Curriculum, following LEAF workshop and field trips program planning Shifts will vary between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM and will be determined for successful candidates at a later time.
Oversee the day camp program by keeping track of attendance and program records, organizing lesson plans and activities.
Lead by example and encourage others to understand and appreciate the mission of the camp, as well as the importance of diversity and social inclusion.
Actively supervise both campers, following the Day Camp Behavior Management Policies and Procedures to manage camper behavior.
Make sure that all safety documentation is accurately and thoroughly completed, and ensure that the camp environment is safe for all campers, volunteers, and staff at all times.
Attend all required Day Camp and other training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and any changes to policies or procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed
Minimum 15 years of age (by July 7) with daily reliable transportation.
Current Standard First Aid.
Minimum of 6 months of direct experience with children. Experience with programming and implementation of camps with children ages 5 – 15 preferred.
Know how and confidence to execute games, activities and Christian songs for children ages 5 – 15, planned and spontaneously.
Techniques, strategies and robust age-appropriate dialogue for interactions with upset children, inclusion and being a role model.
Possess exceptional organization and time management skills to effectively multi-task & prioritize capacities to work independently and/or as a team player.
Effective skills in communicating, both verbally and written, with co-workers, supervisors, participants and parents.
Exceptionally self-motivated, punctual, enthusiastic and takes initiative without prompting.
Proficient in managing stress and confidently making decisions in loud, high traffic and changing environments.
Ability to walk, stand and sit on the floor. Must be able to talk and hear well.
Good vision is imperative.
Kneeling, crouching or crawling is required occasionally.
Ability to lift 50 lbs from floor to waist and up and/or down stairs.
Camp Streams
Day Camps – Registered camp that has weekly and daily options with a wide range of activities.
LEAF camps have a focused theme every week with specific, detailed activities with a smaller number of campers.
Successful candidates, aged 18 or above, must be able to provide a clean Criminal Records Check – Vulnerable Sector and Child Intervention Check, at their own expense, as part of the hiring process. If you are under 18, you'll sign a declaration.

Coach Camp Counsellors

Are you someone who enjoys staying active, leading games, and working with children? Leaf Camp is looking for Coach Camp Counsellors who can bring energy, structure, and fun to our daily activities.
This role is perfect for individuals who are confident in leading sports and group games while creating a positive and engaging environment for children.
What You’ll Be Doing

Lead Camp Counsellor

Are you someone who enjoys guiding others, leading with confidence, and working closely with children? Leaf Camp is looking for a Lead Camp Counsellor who can bring structure, leadership, and positive energy to our daily program.
This role is ideal for individuals who are confident in supporting staff and CITs, overseeing activities, and ensuring a safe, organized, and engaging environment for campers while helping the team succeed together.
Your Role
Lead and oversee daily camp operations and activities
Provide direction, guidance, and support to staff and CITs
Supervise and engage with campers to ensure a safe and positive experience
Plan, organize, and adapt activities to meet group needs
Ensure all safety procedures, policies, and ratios are followed at all times
Act as the main point of support during the day for staff and campers
Support behaviour management and conflict resolution when needed
Communicate effectively with coordinators regarding updates or concerns
Help create a structured, inclusive, and high-quality camp environment
What We’re Looking For
Age 20-29 (required)
High school diploma or post-secondary education related to recreation, child studies, psychology, education, or a related field is an asset.
Strong leadership and team management skills
Open to learning and receptive to feedback, particularly in areas such as soft skills and professional digital presence.
Experience working with children (camp, childcare, daycare, or similar)
Experience in supervising or mentoring staff/CITs is a strong asset
Confident in leading groups, making decisions, and solving problems
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Calm, patient, and professional under pressure
First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Strong understanding of safety, structure, and program flow
